FEMINIST FOR PEACE, RIGHTS AND JUSTICE CENTRE, (FPRJC) is a grassroots community based organization (CBO) led by feminist young women and adolescent girls located in Kibera informal settlements, Nairobi. It was registered in 2018 in response to the many violations, abuses and injustices women and girls were going through as a result of poverty, unemployment, insecurity, illiteracy etc. in the slums.

We ENVISION a society that enables the full development, safety, access equal rights, fair justice and self-actualization of young women. We believe that young women are the women’s movement untapped and valuable resources in defending the gains on women’s rights. FPRJC existence prides itself in empowering young women by building their leadership capacities, providing a platform for networking, nurturing other embryonic and multi-generational organizing.

Our MISSION is to nurture and build young women’s leadership capacity, create and open spaces for young women’s engagement in social, economic and policy making processes in order to live their full potential

Our objectives are as follows:

  • To provide a conducive environment for women and girls to be the driving force that motivates trans-formative leadership in their communities.
  • To empower young women and girls to champion for Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and fight against Sexual violence.
  • To create and open spaces, through unconventional feminist platforms, to embrace and collaborate with embryonic groups to network and learn more.
  • To create a community Centre of excellence for knowledge, skills and Justice regarding the rights of girls and women in informal and rural settlements.
  1. You Must Identify yourself as a Feminist who understand and respects  Feminist values and principles,
  2. Possess the ability to communicate well with other members,
  3. Willing to take the lead always,
  4. Generate solution-oriented ideas and work efficiently to put those ideas into action,
  5. Offering solutions to problems and participating in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas,
  6. Prepared to meetings and events, shares knowledge and expertise with the team and is willing to give of their time to the organization,
  7. Ready to volunteer with the vulnerable community,
  8. You have respect in diversity and status of all persons in the team and community,
  9. You are ready to share your skills with other women to build their capacities,
  10. Participate in our monthly virtual/ in persons meeting,
  11. Open minded and outgoing person,
